International partnerships

Comité Européen de Normalisation (CEN) is one of three European standardisation organisations. CEN publishes European standards (EN). Products that fulfil the requirements of any such standard may bear the CE mark. The European standards applicable in Sweden are designated SS-EN. Sweden’s member organisation in CEN is SIS, the Swedish Standards Institute. Nordion Energi is a member of SIS. Swedegas monitors and contributes to the development of standards for Gas Systems and Infrastructure Transmission within CEN/SIS.

Gas for Climate is an initiative involving ten European actors in the field of gas infrastructure and industry organisations in the field of renewable gas that are committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions in the EU by 2050.

EHB is an initiative consisting of 31 European gas infrastructure companies working together to plan a dedicated hydrogen transportation infrastructure in Europe.

ENTSOG is an organisation for transmission system operators (TSOs) formed to facilitate the harmonisation of the EU’s internal energy market. ENTSOG, in consultation with the corresponding European regulatory authority, is working on formulating network codes that will eventually become text prescribed by law. Nordion Energi is the Swedish representative.

GIE is an organisation that coordinates infrastructure issues for natural gas companies in Europe in respect of transmission, storage and terminals. Nordion Energi is a member.

Nordion Energi is represented in IGU through Energigas Sverige. IGU is a global organisation that brings together the worldwide gas industry in areas of activity such as extraction and production, transmission, LNG, distribution and end-user issues.

Ready4H2 is a project that aims to combine hydrogen expertise and experience from the European gas distribution companies to create a shared understanding of how the distribution networks can help realise the enormous growth potential and deliver the carbon reduction potential for the use of hydrogen.
